Alumni Survey

Contains an overview of the actual working fields of former FEM students.

What possibilities and opportunities are available to FEM students after they graduate?  This is a question that many prospective and current students ask when considering the FEM program.  It may also be of interest to FEM alumni who would like to know where their former colleagues have ended up.

In order to document the study success, the program coordinators stay in touch with former FEM students and launch periodic surveys of their professional activities. The feedback for the survey of 65% is relatively high and the data shows that the graduates in most cases soon find either an employment in the field of environmental protection or continue with doing a PhD. See the graph below for details on the different areas FEM graduates are working in and their location.

Most of the graduates do their PhD (34%), work as consultants (18%) or are employed by private companies (15%). The rest works in international (6%), in state organizations (6%), in the education sector (6%) or in research institutes and universities as scientists (6%). 3% work for the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) and 6% are currently looking for an employment.
